چکیده

We consider the problem of computing a triangulation of the real projective plane P , given a finite point set P = {p1, p2, . . . , pn} as input. We prove that a triangulation of P always exists if at least six points in P are in general position, i.e., no three of them are collinear. We also design an algorithm for triangulating P if this necessary condition holds. As far as we know, this is the first computational result on the real projective plane. Weinberg bounds over nonspherical graphs

Let   G Aut and  E G   denote the automorphism group and the edge set of a graph  G, respectively. Weinberg’s Theorem states that 4 is a constant sharp upper bound on the ratio     G E G Aut over planar (or spherical) 3-connected graphs  G. We have obtained various analogues of this theorem for nonspherical graphs, introducing two Weinberg-type bounds for an arbitrary closed surfa...

Uniformization of Riemann Surfaces

The uniformization theorem states that every simply connected Riemann surface is conformally equivalent to the open unit disk, the complex plane, or the Riemann sphere. We present three aproaches to the uniformization of Riemann surfaces. We first prove the uniformization theorem via the construction of a harmonic function by the Dirichlet principle. We then give an alternate proof by triangula...

Graphs that triangulate a given surface and quadrangulate another surface

We show that for any closed surface F with χ(F ) −4 (or χ(F ) −2), there exist graphs that triangulate the torus or the Klein bottle (or the projective plane) and that quadrangulate F . We also give a sufficient condition for a graph triangulating a closed surface to quadrangulate some other surface. © 2006 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

Pseudo Ricci symmetric real hypersurfaces of a complex projective space

Pseudo Ricci symmetric real hypersurfaces of a complex projective space are classified and it is proved that there are no pseudo Ricci symmetric real hypersurfaces of the complex projective space CPn for which the vector field ξ from the almost contact metric structure (φ, ξ, η, g) is a principal curvature vector field.

Symmetric Plane Curves of Degree 7 : Pseudoholomorphic and Algebraic Classifications

This paper is motivated by the real symplectic isotopy problem : does there exist a nonsingular real pseudoholomorphic curve not isotopic in the projective plane to any real algebraic curve of the same degree? Here, we focus our study on symmetric real curves on the projective plane. We give a classification of real schemes (resp. complex schemes) realizable by symmetric real curves of degree 7...
